Find the right Style

Choosing the Correct Style for your Activity

“How will you be using your mukluks?”

There’s a big difference between wanting a pair of Mukluks for everyday wear and hitting the trail for an expedition or spending a day on a frozen lake ice fishing.  The style you like may not be the one you really need.

There are 3 temperature categories for Mukluks:

E-10: Everyday wear to -10F
E-20: Everyday wear to -20F
B-20: Extreme wear colder than -20F

How cold does it get where you live?  What kind of weather do you venture out into?

† Your new Mukluks come with a Wool Felt Liner in each boot.  The liners will pack down after a few hours of wear creating a little more room in your boots.  DO NOT TRIM your wool felt or contour insoles until after the liners have packed down (up to 8 hours of wear).  Once the liners have packed down you may use both the wool felt and contour insoles if you choose.  The order of wear if you choose to wear both would be Liner > Wool Felt Insole > Contour Insole

** All Steger Expedition Team Members always use Mukluks one size up for temps above -20F and a second pair 2 sizes up for temps below -20F.  They always wear double wide boots.  They use additional wool felt insoles inside their liners.  We provide 2 wool felt insole sets and 1 wool felt liner set as backup for expedition team members.
