We absolutely loved the Camuks and wore them all the time in the later part of the expedition, when the the spring thaw was taking hold. I'll never forget the day in February when we spoke on the phone and you suggested the Camuks to us as a solution for the warmer temperatures. You recommendation was right on! The mittens were just great as well, Kyle used them all the time for filming, if you can believe that.
The New Land 2013 Expedition to Ellesmere Island, Canada was a big success. The 4-man, 4-sled dog team skijored (sled dog and man pulling sled/pulk together) over 600 miles and spent 65 days on the ice. The Ellesmere Island region is one of most beautiful, most remote, and wildest places in the the Arctic...and we felt that every single day of the trip. Wildlife encounters were a daily occurrence, we saw over 60 arctic wolves and over 100 musk oxen.
Our website, newland2013.com contains the full expedition blog and the most up to date news about the project.
